Relief for Moore, OK Solicitation

Many of you are probably asking yourselves why coach Hanson would be utilizing the FireDragons channel of communication to solicit help for the victims of the tornado in Moore, OK? Well, while we have an incredible soccer family, I believe we have an even stronger support group that cares about helping others. I have witnessed this through countless prayers and have seen how you donated cleats and other soccer items to those in Africa.

We now have an opportunity to reach out to our neighbors to the north in Moore, OK. I'm sure that those who go to church will likely have channels to donate. If you'd like a more direct route, I'm heading up to OK this Monday with my family and friends. We're working on getting resources together (food, water, clothing, diapers, essentials) to take with us and we'll be helping on Memorial Day with some clean up. It's not much but it's something and I feel compelled to share what I have with those that now having nothing.

If you'd like more info and/or would like to donate time and/or resources, check out https://www.facebook.com/FortWorthReliefForMooreOk , like it and stay tuned for more details. The more help the better.

Thanks again for all of your help, love and support!

Soccer Cleat Donation Request Reminder

For those that have so generously donated their gently used cleats, a big thank you! My friend touched base with me a couple of nights ago and was so excited at the generosity of individuals with no connections to those whom will benefit but do so out of the kindness of their hearts.

For those that may still be able to donate, I will be handing the set of donations over to my friend just after Spring Break as they will be delivered in April during the mission trip. So if you intend on donating and just need to sync up after the break, please let me know.

Have a great Spring Break and for those coming tomorrow to the game, go FireDragon!

Final Standings on the Season

Here it is, the final standings. As you can see, we edged out the Gators with our win and the Bulldogs came back with their final two games to overtake us. 2nd place is more than respectable and provides us with a case of staying in B for next season. With a 6-2-2 record I believe we would be hard pressed to be moved up into A. Either way, this season was fantastic and definitely showed that the team is improving as a core and we have a lot to offer the league.

Team MP   W    D    L    GF   GA   Pts
 1: CSA BULLDOGS  1072124923
 2: KSA FIREDRAGONS  10622261320
 3: GLASA GATORS 00B  10613231319
 4: GLASA VIPERS 00B  10604241418
 5: BAYFA PRIDE  10514181416
 6: BESA T-REXES  10334101612
 7: GNWSA UNITED  10316202810
 8: BAYFA BEASTS  1030720279
 9: BESA FC AVALANCHE  100289402

Thanks for sticking through it to the end. Everyone achieved solid performances this season and I'm glad the standings worked out in our favor. Once we receive word that the trophies will be coming in we'll schedule an end of season party. Suggestions on location? Double Dave's? Street soccer over at North Park on the hockey court? Other options?
