Great Start on the Season - 10-0-0???

For those keeping track at home, the FireDragons are off to an incredible start this season. With 8 of the 9 teams having played games, or at least having reported games, we're sitting in the 2nd position (as seen below) based upon the points against column and league points scored.

How did we get here?

Team work, communication and a common goal. This is the first season, possibly ever, for the team where the lead scorer is now tied with the team for goals scored. I state this because it demonstrates how well the team is functioning together and is less wholly reliant upon a single player but feels confident as a team unit. When in two games Jaden is playing catch up to get in his first goal it is a strong indicator of the confidence the team feels together.

I've noticed a strong improvement in the communication department. Not only do I hear more chatter on the field, but I've noticed the attitude along with the chatter is more confident, uplifting and less contentious. Much of this comes with the comfort of playing with friends and comrades with whom we've built a bond over years. But each contributor is focused on lifting the team.

I mentioned to the boys that I believe they have the ability to achieve for most the unattainable- a perfect record. Looking over the field and the erratic game play, I believe we can be the one constant in the division. As long as each player stays focused on each play, each sequence throughout the game, not looking too far ahead to the prize but living in the moment as it transpires, the goal can be met.

Never have I been more excited about a team's potential as I am this season. This is the season where FireDragons make our mark in history @ KSA.
